IB Maths Private and Online Tutoring
Feel challenged by IB Maths?
The IB programme requires the study of at least one course in Mathematics (Maths). Our tutors report that IB Maths is often where candidates struggle to get 7s, especially if they are studying it at the higher level. For those choosing Applications & Interpretation (Maths Studies), it is often a struggle to consistently apply step-based problem solving methods. Candidates also tend to be unfamiliar with their calculators, leading to errors in brackets and data processing.
For Analysis & Approaches (IB Maths HL and SL), candidates are expected to understand and apply a vast range of theorems and concepts that are usually only taught at the university level. Without the help of a tutor, these students can become discouraged easily in a class where it is often a struggle to keep up. For those who want to succeed, signing up for a BartyED IB Maths tutor is the first step to success.
IB Maths Tuition and Test Preparation with BartyED
BartyED’s IB Maths tutors have extensive knowledge of the demands of IB HL and SL Maths. Our tutors know the best ways to help any candidate realign their workflow toward academic success and have helped many students get 7s in IB Maths.
Our tutors recognise that not all learners are aiming for a 7; an expert tutor therefore provides support through a mentoring-based framework. BartyED’s IB Maths tuition programme offers two different IB Maths courses: a General pathway and an Accelerated Pathway.
1) General Maths
This pathway is designed for those who lack confidence in solving mathematical problems. Our tutors ensure success in Maths for high school, but it is not expected that tutees will pursue a career in Maths.
Most of our Maths tutees elect this pathway, and receive support from our tutors for everything from statistical applications to algebraic functions. These classes also offer immediate and targeted support for school assessments.
2) Accelerated Maths
This pathway is designed for rapidly upscaling to reach full academic and mathematical potential. Our IB Maths tutors believe it is the best option for those who wish to study Maths, Physics, or other Maths-based subjects in university.
Most of these learners will have a background in arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, probability, and statistics.
Topics covered in this pathway typically include, among others, discrete mathematics, abstract algebra and advanced Euclidean geometry.
BartyED’s IB Maths tutors and mentors provide invaluable support through individualised tutoring sessions, providing support with key concepts and ideas. To help learners earn top marks, our IB Maths tutoring programme helps candidates with revision strategies, as well as assessment technique. BartyED’s IB Maths tuition has proved successful time and time again, and our track record attests to this.
Our IB Maths tuition programmes work because they are structured around established learning outcomes. Since our tutors have had years of experience and education in the IB Maths course, we know how to engage students while consolidating their understanding and application of challenging mathematical skills and concepts. BartyED IB Maths tutors use a holistic teaching approach in our carefully tailored teaching programme, so that students can absorb difficult concepts in the most accessible way for them. Our unique teaching style and carefully prepared lesson materials have been continually praised for their simplicity and helpfulness. What are the IB Maths subjects on offer?
The current IB students are the last cohort to enroll in the current Maths subjects (Mathematical Studies SL, Mathematics SL, Mathematics HL, or Further Mathematics HL). As of August 2019, these courses have been revised as it is in the nature of the IB to change and improve its courses every seven years.
Our IB Maths tutors were some of the first to learn that the IB has begun offering four new courses for the coming academic years, with the first assessment taking place in May of 2021: Mathematics Analysis and Approaches SL or HL and Mathematics Applications and Interpretation SL or HL. Analysis and Approaches roughly corresponds to Maths Studies, and Applications and Interpretation at HL and SL roughly corresponds to the current Maths HL and SL syllabus.
