How IB Geography is assessed
At Standard Level, IB Geography requires the study of two geographic themes, while Higher Level students must study three. Both SL and HL candidates cover all of the global change units within the geographic perspectives component, whilst the global interactions units are reserved for HL study only. The Internal Fieldwork Assessment is required at both levels.

In Geography HL, students must also complete a Paper 3 exam. In addition, HL candidates write on three geographic themes for Paper 1, rather than the two required at SL.
