The ACT is so great to tutor because results come quickly and are easy to measure.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the ACT and SAT?
The significant difference between the ACT and the SAT is the Science section of the ACT and their scoring systems. While the ACT includes a Science section which assesses data interpretation, the SAT assesses this skill through the Reading and Writing sections. Our private ACT tutors know this means the ACT may be preferable for candidates who wish to give more weight to their skills in Science, which is mostly data interpretation. It also means that certain candidates will perform better on this compared to the SAT. In terms of scoring, ACT results are given out of a composite score of 36, while the SAT follows a scaled score, the highest being 1600.
Additionally, the ACT is more widely used in the Midwestern, Rocky Mountain, and Southern United States, whereas the SAT is more popular on the East and West coasts. Our ACT prep tutors regularly take the new SAT and ACT tests when they are released and stay up to date with the latest materials and changes to exam format.
Is it better to take the ACT or the SAT?
The Writing Test is an optional part of the ACT, and while colleges may not require these results for admission, our ACT prep tutors strongly recommend taking it. It gives universities a better understanding of applicants’ writing skills, which will almost certainly be taken into consideration for more competitive programmes or schools. Our expert ACT tutors regularly draft models for these essays and are experienced at coaching students in the rhetorical skills needed for a strong piece of writing.
What are ACT test dates in Hong Kong, and where can I take them?
The ACT is offered internationally in seven test windows a year, namely in September, October, December, February, April, June and July. Registration in advance is required. The number of Hong Kong ACT test center locations varies by test date, but the testing center with the most dates available is the HKEAA San Po Kong Assessment Centre. The ACT test is taken online.
Where can I find the best ACT tutors?
The best ACT tutors are those who consistently score in the top 5 percentile themselves. They have excellent communication skills and can explain all the topics tested in the ACT. BartyED provides the best ACT tutors and test prep classes. Our tutors apply unique approaches based on each student’s learner profile and needs, coupled with an empathic mentoring philosophy, which means we build relationships with our students and push them towards greater academic achievement.
