How IB Business Management is graded
IB Business Management students are examined across a range of topics and skills, from their ability to perform accurate financial calculations, to offering evidence-based advice on marketing models and theories. Graded across an Internal Assessment and two (SL) or three (HL) examined papers, the IB Business Management course results in a grade out of 7.

3 months prior to the exam, students receive a pre-released statement on a case study. The rest of the information is provided in the exam. Most questions require qualitative analysis. There are 30 marks available and it is worth 35% of the final grade (1 hour 30 minutes)

Paper 2: quantitative focus
Students are given a quantitative-based stimulus, and then respond to a series of questions based on its content. This includes calculation, short and extended responses. There are 40 marks available and it is worth 35% of the final grade (1 hour 30 minutes)

Concerning a social enterprise, students are given an unseen stimulus text and asked to identify a human need within it. This paper includes both short and extended responses. There are 25 marks available and it is worth 25% of the final grade (1 hour 15 minutes)
Internal Assessment
Students apply a conceptual lens to a real world Business problem or question faced by a particular organisation. There is a maximum word limit of 1,800 words. This is graded internally and moderated by the IBO at the end of the course. There are 25 marks available and it is worth 30% of the final grade.
