PRIVATE MENTORING

Private mentoring for students whose needs go beyond the classroom

BartyED’s private mentors are committed to providing flexible, tailored, and comprehensive teaching to students with a range of learning differences. From dyslexia and dysgraphia to ADHD, we’re keen to support all students towards greater self‑realisation and achievement.

OUR APPROACH

Holistic mentoring and dedicated support

BartyED’s starting point with every learning support student is the same: an initial assessment that looks beyond content gaps to study habits, organisational strategies, and the student’s own understanding of how they learn best. From this assessment, an individual lesson plan is then built: tailored to a student’s unique learning styles and abilities.

Our educational philosophy centers on the empathetic relationships we build with students. As mentors, we stay up to date with the most effective methods of communication, mentoring, and teaching. More importantly, the mentor’s relationship with the student is all‑important to us. Once our mentors frame themselves as on the same side of the child, the important work of addressing academic needs can take place.

Progress is tracked by our Director of Studies and communicated to parents regularly. Where a student also has clinical support from a psychologist or therapist, our mentors work alongside that provision rather than in isolation from it.

HOW A TYPICAL ENGAGEMENT WORKS

  1. 01

    Initial assessment

Jerome matches your child with a learning support specialist. The first session identifies content gaps, study habits, and any underlying concerns about workload or confidence.

  2. 02

    Tailored plan

A session plan is built around the student’s specific needs, school timetable, and exam dates. This is not a generic programme — it is specific to your child.

  3. 03

    Ongoing sessions

Your child works consistently with the same tutor. Progress is reviewed regularly by the Director of Studies and communicated to parents.

  4. 04

    Clinical referral if needed

Where appropriate, BartyED can refer families to trusted clinical pathways in Hong Kong.
